Starting July 1, 2012 the Center's daily donation fee will change from $35/person to $40/person. Additionally, a $25/person reservation fee will be required. These changes reflect the growing costs to adequately maintain the Center's four-tiered volunteer program. The Center's expenses, including rent, food and insurance went up in 2011. A non-refundable deposit will also be effective July 1, based on group size. |

On Friday, September 23rd, the Center for Ethical Living and Social Justice Renewal held its Second Annual Partner Luncheon. This luncheon was an opportunity for representatives of our partner organizations to come together with Center staff, volunteers, and board members to network and speak about the great work we hope to accomplish in the city of New Orleans in the upcoming year. We shared delicious, home-cooked food from our board members and partners, while hearing brief presentations about the work each organization is doing in the community. We were also glad to welcome a visiting representative of the Unitarian Universalist Community Schools project, which is considering building a service-learning academy in New Orleans. |

There is a new UUA video on the website of the Unitarian Universalist Association about the three churches of the Greater New Orleans UU cluster and the Center for Ethical Living and Social Justice Renewal!
Unitarian Universalists Rebuild New Orleans (approx. 8 minutes)
The three Unitarian Universalist (UU) congregations in New Orleans, like the city itself, were devastated by Hurricane Katrina. However that devastation became an inspiration, not an obstacle, to the members of all three churches. Their resilience and determination have been in evidence every day of the last five years as they rebuild not only their churches, but the city of New Orleans itself.
